A study about the effectiveness of the nursing strategy for increasing patient satisfaction


Abstract
The patient satisfaction is dominant concern in the period immediately following the purchase of a good health services
This study was performed as follows. First, nursing strategy for increasing the patients satisfaction was set up and next, nurses in the ward of the experimental group were educated that they were good at application of that strategy.
And the study subjects were 195 patients who were admitted to a university hospital(group 1; 50, group 2: 48, group3; 50, group 4; 47). The group 3 was experimental group and group 1, 2, 4 were control ones.
@ES The study results were summarized as follows;
@EN 1. In general characteristics, the subjects were composed of 111 male and 84 female patients, and 24.7% of all the subjects were above the age of 60 and the subjects between the ages of 50 and 59 were 21.4% of all.
2. The patient satisfaction rate by providing nursing are using nursing strategy was analyzed by the ANOVA and Duncan test. The results were statistically significant differences between experimental and control group(F=3.38, p=0.0193).
Therefore,
we
can conclude that providing nursing care by nursing strategy increases patient satisfaction rate.
3. By ANOVA and Duncan tests, the satisfaction rate of teaching patients and providing informations to the patients(F=2.90 P=0.0362), and the satisfaction rate of comforting patients(F=3.88, P=0.0101) were statically different between
experimental
and
control groups, but the satisfaction rate of nurses' kindness and image making strategy to patients, keeping patients' privacy, nurses' dress and attitude, and the satisfaction of nursing care situation were no significant differences
statistically.
From these results, we can conclude that for increasing the patients' satisfaction it is useful that the nurses set up the nursing strategy well, and use them. Then patients feel they've a good health service, and it is helpful to make an image
improvement of the hospital.
